There was a house: a large home that belonged to a family long ago. It was covered in vegetation. What was once the backyard is now a moldy pond. In this pond live creatures that I’ve only heard of in fairytales. There is a siren. She rules the creatures in the pond. The scales on her tail are blue with splotches of black here and there.  Her hair is turquoise. It also looks ancient. I can feel the past follow me. It trails behind me as I walk, each moment of my life imprinted or recorded on an invisible strip. I know there is a greater purpose that goes beyond all we know on Earth. When I was a kid, I was fascinated when I found out that the tongue is a muscle. In youth there are no boundaries.
