Today, I escaped into the distant desert. Blossoms of heat burst as my feet stepped onto the sun-cooked sand. I was lighter than the air that crept over the earth, like the smoke that rises from freshly baked bread on hot cobblestones. A moment of true silence. Not even the faint ringing in my ears. Just my skin on the grainy surface. Crimson silk draped over my bare body. My hair groomed by stones. Awaiting the day or the night. When my savior would finally come. Out into the real world I would run, where clouds hover over my head heavily and let out their magnificent pour and relieve me for some time of the distant desert in my mind.
